5 Fast Facts
1. There are two types of characters you will encounter at Walt Disney World Resort, “face” characters and “fur” characters. “Face” characters have no masks and can speak with guests, like the princesses. “Fur” characters wear a full head mask and are therefore not able to speak, except in hand signals.
2. There are many ways to encounter characters at Walt Disney World Resort, including character dining (at both the parks and specific resorts), traditional queues, after-hours events, daily parades, and on rare occasions, wandering the parks.
3. Many Disney Character meet and greets also include a Disney PhotoPass photographer to capture the special moment, but not always. Be sure to have your phone or camera ready to go, and character attendants are typically more than happy to assist with family pictures if photographers aren’t available.
4. Do you have a Disney Visa Card? There are two exclusive meet and greets for cardholders, one in EPCOT and one in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Just be sure to bring your card with you!
5. Not every character makes appearances in every park, if you’re looking for your favorite, be sure to research ahead of time so you can plan appropriately.

5 Items to Have Autographed By Your Favorite Character
1. An autograph book. You can purchase these around the parks or at stores located at your Walt Disney World Resort, or bring one from home.
2. A picture frame mat. When you get home, you can display your favorite picture from the trip along with your signatures!
3. Disney Books. Whether you grab a Disney Character Encyclopedia or storybooks of your favorite characters, having them autographed is a great way to commemorate your trip, and celebrate it when reading the books when you’re back at home.
4. A clothing item: Whether you choose a baseball cap or a t-shirt, just be sure it’s clean and has enough space for signatures. Light colors also work best!
5. A travel mug: These are all the rage right now, bring one that is a light color and has a matte finish, then make sure you cover it with food-safe gloss when you get home to preserve the signatures!
